Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Luis was always connected and drawn to the art culture that was constantly circulating throughout his native home.
By age 17, he was a recognized graffiti artist – having won local competitions. At 18, he began studying industrial design at the Instituto de Caracas, graduating with honors as a product designer.
Tattoos were always captivating to Luis, so he quickly began filling his body with artwork while making great friendships in the tattoo community along the way. His most notable connections to the industry at the time were 3 world renowned artists: Yomiko Moreno, Darwin Hernandez and Axel Lopez.
It didn’t take long for him to become influenced by those friendships and their passion for the tattoo world, so Luis picked up tattooing as a hobby. Soon after, that hobby became a fiery passion. He moved to Miami and dedicated his time and devotion to growing into an artist that could be diverse and unique in his approach to designing. Taking up opportunities to guest spot in New York is where he found the newly opened, Skin Design Tattoo, and jumped on the opportunity to give his business card to the employees, in the event that they ever needed a guest artist. It would be awhile before he heard back from anyone, so Luis went back to Miami and started working in his own private studio. In September of 2020, he received a call asking when he could be in New York, and just a few days later, Luis packed up his belongings and drove up to Brooklyn. A guest spot for him quickly turned into a permanent stay with the Skin Design family, and now he travels from Las Vegas to Brooklyn, rotating his artistry between the shops and growing in each new culture he finds himself in.
His work does not reflect a favoritism of specialization, but amongst his favorite styles are black and gray realism, color realism, geometric and water color. He is open to trying anything to make every piece of work unique so that every client leaves happy.
